To make getting information about academic and careers advice, employment and training easier, the Careers Advice and Training space, on level 1 of the library, provides you with documentation about professions, schools and universities, competitive entrance exams, internships or jobs: Actuel-CIDJ information sheets, Editions Onisep and l’Etudiant guides, selection of websites…
Discover the Self training space
The Self training space on level 2, is dedicated to lifelong independent learning. More than 220 languages and dialects can be learnt in this space, or office software, the highway code… The space provides many resources (language methods, films, documentaries, programmes) to allow you to increase your knowledge independently or guided by a librarian.
You’ll also find many tools for finding out about sectors that are recruiting and to help you find a job: practical guides (CV, covering letters, recruitment tests…), company directories, addresses of places with resources, selection of websites…
Take your professional future in hand
The Bpi and the Cité des métiers (profession orientation structure) have partnered to make information about employment, training and careers more accessible. As an associate centre of the Cité des métiers, the Bpi welcomes jobseekers or people changing career path and guides them towards useful resources or suitable structures.
To build your career, come and take part in the Employment and Career workshops led by professional partners from the Cité des métiers on the following themes: alternative forms of activity, working through an umbrella company, the DAEU (university study access diploma), recognition of prior learning, theatre or writing techniques to regain self-confidence, debating techniques for jobseeking or communicating with a company, cosearching (jobseeking with others in an informal place) (to be put in place).
Also learn about “Jobseeking on the Internet and social media” and “Jobseeking search techniques:CV and covering letter “ thanks to workshops organised by the library in partnership with the Centre d’Information et de Documentation Jeunesse (CIDJ) (Information and documentation centre for young people).
Developing skills in languages, IT and writing
Are you looking to improve and make the most of your language skills? The Independent Learning space provides conversation workshops free of charge so that you can practice English, Spanish, Portuguese or French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
Do you need to update your CV or write a cover letter but you’re not used to using a computer? Are you looking to improve your computer skills? Get an introduction to computers and the Internet in the digital workshops organised and led by two librarians.
To help you feel comfortable writing your administrative or professional letters, or anything you need to write personally or publicly, with no spelling or other mistakes in French, the Library organises sessions with a professional writer in partnership with the non-profit organisation Mots sur mesure.
